“‘Sweetheart’ reflects on the early days of my relationship and how quickly I realized that what I’d accepted in the past wasn’t love. I remember being surprised—and embarrassingly impressed—by him asking me follow-up questions, walking me home, and genuinely wanting me around. It was eye-opening to be with someone who cared about me and wasn’t afraid to show it.” -Avery Lynch
However, Lynch has a way of sprinkling positivity onto sad moments. Her voice is naturally uplifting, and her lyrics feel pensive but from the perspective of someone who has learned necessary lessons from her experiences.
