Ahead of her new EP Solace, B of Briz has released ‘Profoundly Sick Society’, a single that is equal parts spoken word poetry and song. As B of Briz flows through lyrics she asks the hardest question we all seem to be facing. “What do we do when it’s all gone wrong?” She calls for consistency, awareness, and care for others in the shadow of all this global darkness. To resist the cruelty and come together.
The song is punctuated by a warped and eerie bassline and looping kick effects. It’s not the screaming anthem of change that we usually see, but it’s no less powerful. Rather than something to dance or rage or cry to it is the background to a moment of reflection and self contemplation. She asks if you are willing to look inside and take up the mantle of change.
