Bristol and Gloucestershire alt-folk agitators Dryadic are back with their bold new single ‘Mansplain’ – as heard on the LOUD WOMEN radio show last week.

‘Mansplain’ is an unapologetically queer anthem drenched in luscious fiddle hooks and lavish harmonies, a funny, in your face but poignant takedown of those dreaded unsolicited opinions that are frequently hoisted upon us.

As Zora explains:

It’s basically the soundtrack to that moment when a sweaty guy corners you after a show and starts lecturing you about your own art, politics, identity, and everything in between — without ever asking you a single question.

The trio consists of leader and song-writer Zora McDonald (formerly of The Tatsmiths) on vocals, guitar, stomp and piano, Aly Rainey on fiddle and George Pearson on double bass. They have played numerous stages from Glastonbury’s Avalon Stage and Brighton Pride to the Hackney Empire.

‘Mansplain’ is out now. Look out for an album on the horizon in 2026.
