Lola Pony

Mexican-born, London-based Lola Pony’s ‘GOOD GIRL’ is alt-pop with zero fucks given. It’s got that raw, DIY energy in spades – recorded on a phone with GarageBand and a keyboard pulled from an East London dustbin. Yes, you read that right. Trashartivism, as Lola calls it, and it’s all kinds of brilliant.

The track is a playful jab at the messiness of life – mental health, addiction, racism, and the whole bloody circus that comes with it. But it’s not a sad slog: it’s fun, irreverent, and unapologetically real. It’s chaos wrapped in a catchy melody that somehow makes you want to dance through the wreckage.

The video, filmed on the Bakerloo Line (because why not?), matches the track’s underground spirit. ‘GOOD GIRL’ is a celebration of finding joy in the mess and having a laugh at it all. It’s punk, it’s pop, and it’s everything we need right now.
