Previously part of the post-punk band FRIGS and as the vocalist of Orville Peck’s live band, Bria Salmena has been making waves in the indie/alternative scene with her solo creations, and with the release of her debut album Big Dog, these waves are about to become a whole lot bigger.

Salmena is a jack-of-all-genres and effortlessly blends the likes of punk, country and indie rock with a hint of gothic sprinkled in. Her tracks elegantly touch on deeply personal themes exploring transformation such as her own artistic expression and resilience and this translates just as effortlessly in her live performances.

Salmena filled The Lexington in Kings Cross, London with her sultry vocals and the raw emotion emitting from her was enough to get the audience deeper and deeper in their feelings after she belted each and every track of her debut album Big Dog, and it is set to be her most heart-wrenching release of her career to date.

Salmena’s light-hearted, humorous attitude and stage presence whilst performing was also a great dose of comic relief in the midst of the pure emotion blanketing the room and made for a personal and raw performance for the books that all fans present could relate to in one way or another.

Salmena was fittingly supported by the eccentric tones of Berlin-based indie-rock trio Meagre Martin. Taking inspiration from the sounds of lo-fi and new-americana, they set the tone for the rest of the night tremendously with their high-energy riffs blended with ethereal vocals from lead vocalist Sarah Martin.
