London’s BE N!CE just released their debut EP, ‘Where Am I?‘, exploring themes of social injustice, personal struggle, and absurdity.

Where Am I?‘ brings most of the band’s 2024 singles with new track, ‘Get a Job’, into one place. Lead vocalist Pol Mills shares,

“This EP means a lot to us, we’re very proud of it. I feel like it symbolizes who we are as a band. We’re angry and upset about a lot of things but also don’t like taking ourselves too seriously. The world’s falling apart, may as well have fun with it. It’s the only way of keeping ourselves sane.”

‘Cambridge’ and ‘Bedtime’ are both darkly funny tales about modern life. Many of us can relate to wanting to feeling desperate on a Teams call. We also can relate to just being too tired to care about anything.

Meanwhile, ‘One Bad Apple’ tackles rape culture in the UK, addressing the failures and complicity of the justice system that have allowed it to fester. It reminds me of the Petrol Girls‘ track ‘Touch Me Again’ with its repeated refrain of “Get the Fuck Off Me”.

Whether they are being funny or serious, all the tracks here are loud and heavy with choruses you can scream along to. Essentially what we all want from our favourite punk music.

Catch them live:

27/02 Gullivers, Manchester (Supporting Split Dogs)
