Sister Ghost‘s new single ‘I Bite Back’ features impassioned vocals and bewitching harmonies. The track is Sister Ghost’s second release ahead of her long-awaited debut album Beyond The Water, which comes out on 31 October.
Northern Irish Sister Ghost, aka Shannon Delores O’Neill, recorded ‘I Bite Back’ in Los Angeles with producer Brad Wood (known for his work with Liz Phair and Veruca Salt). With lines like “you chewed me up and spat me out” you’d be forgiven for at first thinking the single is about a malicious ex. Instead, Sister Ghost writes:
“This song is about battling depression and anxiety (‘the Black Dog took hold of me’) in a world that wants us to give in and give up”.
Euphoric and energetic, ‘I Bite Back’ shows Sister Ghost has a lot to bring to the alt-rock scene.
