Seattle C-pop duo Chinese American Bear share their latest single/video ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy (好吃好吃)’.
Chinese American Bear is composed of husband and wife Bryce Barsten and Anne Tong. The duo blends Chinese mando-pop and Western indie pop with English and Mandarin lyrics.
‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’ is another taste of Chinese American Bear’s sophomore album Wah!!!, out 18 October via Moshi Moshi. This track is pure Chinese American Bear: pure joy and feel good vibes. ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’ will make you crave dumplings and noodle soup and inspire you to sing along to the catchy chorus.
Anne Tong shares the following about ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’:
“We’ve been wanting to write a song about noodles (my favorite food) for awhile and this was that song! In Asian cultures – slurping your noodles is considered a compliment to the chef or a sign of enjoyment and naturally we had to write lyrics about this appetizing sound into a song about noodles. We wanted to make the lyrics visual too – they literally translate to “give me a pair of chopsticks, I’ll hold a spoon, and carry a big bowl of noodle soup”.”
