Stop everything you’re doing and watch the ‘Crying in the Carwash’ video by the ever-adorable ARXX – which finds our Hanni and Clara getting thoroughly sponged down by the queerest carwash ever, there’s a really nice dog, and Clara sports one of those – what do you call them? The big flappy tube guys that flap in the wind, you know … oh just watch the video, it’s a must-see.
The song itself – our #singleoftheweek – is yet another stone cold hit. The big synth guns are well and truly out on this pure pop banger. One to take you from the car wash to the club.

The video is another slice of genius from Rosie Powell, who was also responsible for ARXX’s ‘Ride or Die’ video (where Hanni and Clara got to play with horses) and ‘Deep’ (where Hanni and Clara got to play their instruments in a swimming pool). Rosie has a rare talent for beautifully bringing to life whatever madcap scheme ARXX dream up it seems!
We were supersad that ARXX had to withdraw from our IWD Fest lineup as Hanni needed surgery to remove a polyp from their throat. Polyp thoroughly expelled, they’re now resting up ready to head out on tour with Fletcher shortly.
