Mall Girl gives us sweetness and weirdness in their latest track ‘Super Lazy Girl’.
The Norwegian alt trio is coming back with a new album on January 26th and we are already excited about Veslemøy’s drums in their singles.
The new trio is formed by Bethany Forseth-Reichberg in vocals, guitarist Iver Tandsether and drummer Veslemøy Narvesen. We discovered them in 2020, before their first LP Superstar and we couldn’t get enough.
The band has been classified as many things: indie-jazz, math-pop, post-rock and more, and to be honest, they do take influences from all around, but only to create their own little piece of haven. Bethany’s voice is soft and embodies the building courage that the song demands. We are accompanied by Tandsther’s playful guitar from the start and Veslemøy’s drums are just impeccably timed. The harmonies work oh so good.
Bethany said:
“This song feels like a bridge between the sound of the young and the slightly older Mall Girl we are now”
and we couldn’t agree more. ‘Super Lazy Girl’ has a more clean and mature feel. Here’s to hoping the entire LP mirrors the freshness found in ‘Superstar.’
The lyrics are simple but effective, a girl pondering whether to give a chance or not to love. If the subject is Mall Girl, our verdict is a resounding ‘go ahead!’
