Long running Welsh alternative rock band The Joy Formidable just released their latest single/video ‘The Hat.’ This single follows ‘Cut Your Face‘, released in early August.

The instrumentals are resolute, the tenacious guitar along with the kaleidoscopic visuals of the music video showcases ‘The Hat, ‘ which isn’t named after a literal hat, but an aperiodic monotile recently discovered.

‘The Hat’ is a contemplation on life, and the unrelenting nature in which it pushes you forward.

“I feel like your own inner reflections can take on a sensation like being in space, alone in the gravity of your own uncertainty, drifting and off balance but aware of how beautiful and extraordinary life is. This new song has that sensation of being transported but also moving forward, a nod to the new aperiodic tile that never repeats and your own vow to ‘never make the same mistake twice’.”

-Ritzy Bryan, singer of The Joy Formidable
