If you are a follower of LOUD WOMEN you will have heard of HotWax. They are a young trio from Hastings who played the LOUD WOMEN fest last year, are rising fast and getting a lot of well deserved attention right now. A Thousand Times is their first EP and will be released on Friday 19 May on Marathon Artists.

The eponymous track from the EP is out already and in an interview recorded for the LOUD WOMEN radio show the band explained to our founder Cassie how the song is about the friendship and sisterhood of the band’s founders Tallulah and Lola. It is a melodic and slightly psychedelic homage to to their relationship, written when they were just 15! Even then they had musical maturity beyond their years.

Ahead of that they released Treasure which perfectly showcases their talent for crafting a song – this has the lot. Melody, menace, driving riffs, fuzzy bass and down moments, cracking drums and just a hint of psychedelia.

Rip It Out just dropped today, Wednesday 17 May, and this a personal favourite of mine. Their most menacing track so far I have heard it many times live but it is a joy to hear it recorded, capturing the impressive richness of their musicality and their ability to craft their sound as well as their songs.

All I Want is surges with Lush-eque melody and Mother is another banger which crashes open with drums and then fuzzed up bass. These kids can do no wrong and we are excited to follow them to the dizzy heights for which they are destined.
