Vancouver, B.C. band PISS release their debut album you made me / skin on linen, our album of the month.
Featuring Taylor Zantingh (vocals), Tyler Paterson (guitar), Gavin Moya (bass) and Garreth Roberts (drums), PISS combine music, poetry, sound collage, performance art and visual art to stitch together the fabric of the personal and political.
you made me / skin on linen explores a childhood shaped by structural, systemic and intimate violence, asking how that violence impacts our development and what wounds it leaves behind.
Snippets of archival audio, speeches and samples cut through distortion and screams that rise from the depths of darkness, while chaotic rhythms keep the album in constant motion. An experience in texture and emotion, the album confronts the lasting impact of violence on our lives.
With you made me / skin on linen, PISS turn art into more than an outlet for pain. It becomes a statement, a confrontation and a weapon against oppression and violence.
