Northern Irish/Dutch duo Fräulein have released their second single, ‘Brand New’, ahead of their upcoming EP, Pedestal. The alt-rock track combines punchy instrumentation and riffs, with lyrics that are truthful and direct, to create a timeless single that’s hard to take off repeat. Their 90s inspiration is palpable, and leaves me in anticipation for the full EP.

It’s a song about trying to shed all of the negativity and low thoughts explored in the first half of the EP, trying to start fresh and just express yourself. But with that comes some sacrifices too – it’s a song about putting yourself out there, barefaced and real.
