Here at LOUD WOMEN HQ we love MUFF, but did you know that two of its members are also in another, different but equally awesome band called Smoke Filled Room? We had to find out how they sound so when we got the opportunity to run a LOUD WOMEN-on-sea show in Brighton we jumped at the chance to book them. We asked them a few questions ahead of the show...

1. For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?

For people that haven’t heard us play live before well, we struggle to define our genre (I know we are that cliché) but would say we are ambient indie rock with a side of proggy goodness. You can expect very loud drums (so bring your ear plugs) and heavy pedal boards that make our guitars and bass fill the room.

2. What’s the most important thing we need to know about your band right now?

We have two singles out on Spotify and more in the works so follow us on insta and check out our Spotify.

3. If you could add any musician (live or dead) to your band lineup, who would it be?

All our answers would be different: Chloe’s answer would be the drummer from Sleep Token, even if that meant replacing her it would be worth it. Running with this theme of replacing ourselves Anna would add in Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro because of his screaming, riffs and overall stage presence. Louis would add in Kerri Macllelan from Alvvays to add some nice synth textures to our stuff, or Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai to add some cool guitar texture!

4. Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?

Sleep Token – Chloe

Alvvays – Louis

Pinegrove – Anna

5. Draw us a picture.

Nancy cracked out Microsoft Paint for this one
