HotKid are gracing the UK with a tour and we are superstoked to be hosting the London and Brighton legs:
We got to know them a bit better with 5 questions ...
1. Introduce yourself to the UK! what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gigs?
HotKid is bringing a rippin’ 4 piece band for our first shows ever in the UK! We are so excited to be playing London and Brighton on the LOUD WOMEN dates. It’s surreal!
Music is medicine and we are so lucky to have found a community in the UK through music. We’ll be playing some songs off our latest record, Truth or Deceiver, and some of our favorite rockers from our past releases.
2. What’s the HotKid band manifesto?
We believe music saves and girls rock.
3. If you could add any musician (live or dead) to your band lineup, who would it be?
I’m a huge fan of the Sadies, a Canadian psych/country band, so I was absolutely heartbroken when guitarist and singer Dallas Good passed away suddenly last winter. I was so inspired by his enigmatic stage presence, obvious musical talent and dazzling style. Dallas played with another of my all-time favorite bands, Elevator, a psych rock band originally from Moncton, New Brunswick. Dallas was part of that band for a time and would play keys and guitar, or just create otherworldly sounds behind the scenes. This music has had a huge influence on me and really inspired me to create and follow this path I find myself on. If Dallas Good could sit in with our band for one night that would be a dream.
4. Scene report, please! What 3 bands from your hometown should we be listening to?
