Ever the party-starters, Feral Five are coming to help us celebrate 7 years of LOUD WOMEN at our Birthday gig on Saturday 8 October at the Hope & Anchor. We subjected them to a 5 question interview and they came up trumps ...

1. For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?

Growling guitars, big beats and slinky synthery for glittering LOUD WOMEN party vibes.

2 . What’s your band manifesto?

Sonic elixir for our dystopian C21st, music for heart, feet and mind.

3. Tell us the best story behind your best song.

Of our releases so far… Neurotrash… using anger as an energy we made a turbocharged tune about gender wars in brain science. We think it’s the only song ever to namecheck Rosalind Franklin and X-ray crystallography, and it ended up on the soundtrack of drag queen film Dressed As A Girl which premiered at the BFI!

4. Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?

The Sex Patels, deux furieuses, Grove. And everyone on the LOUD WOMEN Fest bill. Oh is that cheating?

5. It’s our birthday! Feel free to wish us well 🙂
