Punk pop royalty Snoozers are coming to play LOUD WOMEN Club at Islingtons' Hope & Anchor this Saturday (along with Vulgar Breeds, Sassyhiya, I, Doris, and Chloe Dejon). Featuring the inimitable Nadia Buyse (of Dubais fame - last seen on a LW stage back in 2018 featuring Allison Wolfe!), Jon Slade (ex-Huggy Bear, sometime Comet Gain) and Steve Dore (casual dots). Nadia gifted us a 5 question interview ...

1.   For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?

a.     Two-minute songs

b.     Hats hats hats!

c.     A real nice time, man

2.     What’s the most important thing we need to know about your band right now?

We are two Taureans and a half horse… We are not very active on Instagram, nor do we comprehend what a Spotify is… But we like to groove. Our biggest influences are the smile in a child’s eye the first time they hear the Velvet Underground, and the state of Washington.

3.    If you could add any musician (live or dead) to your band line-up, who would it be?

Oh boy… this one was too hard to choose so I narrowed it down to these three.

a.     ROLF from the muppet babies… baby.

b.     Johan Sebastian Bach on keytar

c.     Cleopatra, Nefertiti, Oum Kalthoum girl group…baby

4.    Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?

New bands I like right now:

  • The Real Distractions
  • les filles de illighadad
  • Seventies Beach boys

5.   Draw us a picture…

Steve Dore drew a real nice flier for this upcoming show…
