Ahead of Saturday's performance at LOUD WOMEN Club at the Hope & Anchor, Islington, we asked YNES to tell us more about herself with a 5 question interview ...
  1. For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?
I really try to be as interactive as possible – and with this being one of my first solo gigs I’m super excited to up the energy even more. My songs are quite lyric-heavy so I’m sure I’ll sound like I’m attempting stand-up while I catch my breath inbetween tracks, but I’m excited nonetheless! With lyrics being such a focal point for me, it’s fun to see how different people pick up on different ‘bits” when playing live. I have an EP due to be released this summer – which is heavier and more tongue-in-cheek than ever – and I’ll be playing it in it’s entirety which I am so ready for!

2. What’s the most important thing we need to know about your band right now?

That it’s me, my MacBook and some cowboy boots.

3. If you could add any musician (live or dead) to your band lineup, who would it be?

The KLF.

4. Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?

Bob Vylan, carolesdaughter, Pillow Queens.

5. Draw us a picture…
