Today’s video of the day is the aptly named ‘Spectacular’ by Berlin singer/ bassist/songwriter Olivia Anna Livki. Sit back and enjoy some fab-u-lous postpunk-electro disco, and the biggest papier mache arse I’ve ever seen.
The release is a critique of ‘influencer’ culture, “narcissism, capitalism and the ambivalence of female power and sexuality in digital capitalism”. In Olivia’s own words:
“We’re all stars in an Insta-reality-show, dangerously powerful, yet trapped in a vicious cycle of extremism and degraded to pictures and products.”
