London-based international alt-pop collective The Deadmans return with new single ‘Make Me Prey’, the latest from their forthcoming debut The Deadmans, and it lands alongside news of an immersive album launch show at Elektrowerkz on 23 April.

Following ‘Nice Kid’ and ‘If Arizona Didn’t Exist’, this one feels sharper. ‘Make Me Prey’ plays with contrast – glossy and teasing on the surface, but with a definite bite underneath. Nikki DeParis delivers a vocal that stays just out of reach, controlled and deliberate, while the track flickers between softness and something more cutting.

Lyrically, it leans into being underestimated and enjoying it. As lyricist LaurenSage Browning puts it,

“’Make Me Prey’ is an acerbic response to being underestimated. It’s made to listen to at full volume while proving to yourself who you are. It bats its eyes teasingly, while biting viciously—an anti-sweet rallying cry and a theme song for unapologetic ambition, a soundtrack for ignoring the noise of other’s opinions as you blindingly focus on your own uninhibited instincts.”

Written across cities and built as part of a wider visual and artistic world, the track carries that sense of movement and intention. That approach extends to their live plans too – the Elektrowerkz launch promises a two-part evening blending gig, gallery and performance, with the album played in full ahead of its release on 24 April.
