Mei Semones is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and guitarist, with a signature jazz-inspired indie sound that feels both refreshing and comforting. Her latest release ‘Dumb Feeling’ follows the release of her 2024 EP Kabutomushi.

‘Dumb Feeling’ effortlessly explores bossa-nova, spotlighting Semones’ technical mastery as a guitarist; the chorus teases us between indie/rock and bossa/samba rhythms. Mei Semones’ eloquent genre-crossing style, paired with her gently captivating vocals, is as unique as it is infectious.

There’s a charming simplicity about Mei’s lyrics, expressing her contentment with living in New York City, that leaves us feeling warm, happy and at ease. “No second-guessing, no overthinking,” says Semones of this strengthened self-assurance that flows through her latest music.

Keep an eye out for more enchanting releases from Mei Semones; her debut album Animaru will be dropping on 2nd May 2025 via Bayonet Records. And if you can’t wait until then, catch Mei supporting Panchiko in Europe through March and April and on her headline US/Canada tour from May.
