Molotov Princess may only have played their first gig in 2026, but this Tokyo queer feminist punk collective is already making its presence felt.

Their music takes aim at fascism, capitalism, transphobia, racism and surveillance. But for Molotov Princess, punk isn’t simply about what happens onstage. It’s about building community, challenging injustice and putting solidarity into practice.

Already, the collective has organised benefit gigs supporting people in Sudan and Palestine, alongside fundraising for a member of the trans community.

It’s an approach to DIY music that feels particularly important right now. Music can be a way of bringing people together, raising awareness and turning collective anger into something useful.

And that’s exactly why we’re thrilled to have Molotov Princess joining LOUD WOMEN Fest Tokyo on Saturday 14 November.

Presented alongside Tokyo’s Too Hot to Be Cool, the festival brings together independent artists from Japan, South Korea, Ireland, the UK and the USA for an afternoon and evening of punk, alternative rock and grassroots collaboration.

The festival itself has a charitable mission, supporting WildAct Vietnam, a women-founded conservation organisation working to protect wildlife and empower women in environmental conservation.

With artists like Molotov Princess leading the way, the connection between music, activism and community couldn’t be clearer.
