Acclaimed singer-songwriter Kate Voegele shares ‘Bad Taste’, a bold alt-pop-rock banger from her upcoming album Age of Alchemy. Best known for her recurring role as singer-songwriter Mia Catalano on One Tree Hill, Voegele draws on her own experiences in her songwriting, unafraid to get personal.
Voegele brings raw energy and a dash of pettiness to ‘Bad Taste’, a song about coming out the other side of a difficult situation and finding happiness, making it the perfect soundtrack to our Friday.
“I wrote ‘Bad Taste’ about the very specific kind of satisfaction that comes from realizing someone who once had power over you doesn’t anymore. It’s about getting to the other side of a particularly shitty situation, being genuinely happy, and knowing that your happiness most likely drives that person absolutely crazy. There are a lot of things in this song that you’re probably not supposed to say out loud, which is exactly why it was so much fun to write. It’s petty, unapologetic, and probably one of the most fun songs on the album.”
