Big riffs, fabulous outfits and unapologetic queer rock’n’roll. The Daddy Sisters are bringing a glorious dose of Kentucky glam-punk to LOUD WOMEN Fest Tokyo on Saturday 14 November!
Hailing from Bowling Green, Kentucky, The Daddy Sisters are singer-guitarist Chick Falcon and drummer Jack Quinn, a powerhouse duo channelling the spirit of Bowie, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop and the golden age of glam rock.
The band formed in 2021 after a chance meeting in a coffee shop, and have been making gloriously flamboyant noise ever since. Think crunchy garage-rock guitars, swaggering rhythms, theatrical stagecraft and songs celebrating self-expression, queer identity and the freedom to be exactly who you want to be.
Their 2024 debut album, Beast With Two Backs, is a riot of infectious rock’n’roll, full of wit, attitude and self-empowerment. Songs like ‘Wanna Be a Girl’ and ‘Nightcrawler’ capture a band who know that punk can be political, provocative and enormous fun all at once.
For frontwoman Chick Falcon, a transgender musician, visibility and representation are central to the band’s message. Their shows have become spaces where queer audiences can celebrate themselves, something that fits beautifully with the LOUD WOMEN mission.
And now they’re bringing that energy to Japan!
