Berlin-based musician and visual artist Gloria de Oliveira shares the final single ‘Leda Saw Eyes’ ahead of her upcoming album The Lying Swans, out 30 October via La Double Vie and Cargo Records.Beautiful and cinematic, ‘Leda Saw Eyes’ sets the tone for the album against a dreamy soundscape.

“Leda Saw Eyes” introduces the album’s forest setting, a powerful place in our collective subconscious. In Dante’s Inferno, for example, the protagonist finds himself “within a dark wood, / for the straightforward pathway had been lost.” Similarly set is the tale of Leda, which has been depicted and analysed in art and culture for centuries. It’s interesting how it has often been romanticized while carrying violence, or at the very least betrayal, at its core. Leda’s own “complicity” remains a point of discussion. This seeming ambiguity interested me, and I set out to speak from Leda’s point of view.”
