Ex:Re, the cult-classic alt-pop project of Elena Tonra of acclaimed London indie-folk band Daughter, shares new single ‘Sleep’, taken from her upcoming album Save As, out 30 October, alongside a live session video filmed in the London 4AD studio by Cuan Roche.
Written alone in Paris and recorded in a hotel room, the original demo lingers in the final cut of ‘Sleep’, with a melodic loop built from acoustic guitar processed through a vocoder and a drum machine. The flow of words captures racing late-night thoughts, wrapped in muffled textures that feel like overhearing a party from another room.
