Fort Collins punks Bitchflower are bringing their political, gloriously furious DIY noise to the first ever LOUD WOMEN Fest Colorado at Boulder’s Fox Theatre on 7 November.
Formed in 2023, Bitchflower mix punk, psych and rock into something designed to be felt as much as heard. Their two albums, Please Don’t Be Evil To Me (2024) and Aghast, Aroused, Appalled (2025), take on violence against women, anger, politics and the increasingly difficult business of existing in the world without wanting to scream about it.
Punk is political
The band are completely self-managed and came up through the DIY scene in Fort Collins. Vocalist Brooke had never been in a band before Bitchflower and learned to sing and scream for the project, while their visual identity has grown through collaborations with local artists, printmakers and designers.
Community is a huge part of what they do too. Bitchflower regularly play local venues and house shows, and use gigs to support causes they care about. A recent benefit raised money for Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center and the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition.
As they put it themselves, punk music and art are inherently political. When there is this much to be angry about, you might as well scream about what matters. Very much our sort of band.
Witch Bitch Fest
Bitchflower have also created their own festival, Witch Bitch Fest, held around Halloween and dedicated to showcasing women, non-binary and queer musicians from across Colorado.
So yes, we suspect they are going to fit into LOUD WOMEN Fest just fine.
Bitchflower at LOUD WOMEN Fest Colorado
Bitchflower join All Thicc + Blankslate + Brokentear + Dressy Bessy + Fatal Femmes + GUNK! + I, Doris + Tarah Who? + The Dollheads at Boulder’s Fox Theatre on Saturday 7 November.
It’s our first ever Colorado Fest, bringing together some of the brilliant artists already building the scene there with bands travelling in from elsewhere in the US, Mexico and the UK.
We cannot wait to see Bitchflower let loose on that stage.
