We’re delighted that Heather Harris, co-organiser of LOUD WOMEN Halifax, will be representing LOUD WOMEN at EMERGE Summit 2026 this Saturday.
Heather joins the panel ‘Identity, Branding and Professionalism’ at 2.30pm on Saturday 3 October, alongside Halifax hip-hop artist and creative-industry facilitator MAJE, with Sasha Paul, founder of Mauya Creative Arts & Wellness, hosting the discussion.
The session looks at what it means to build a clear identity around your creative work, how consistency can help build an audience and create opportunities, and the practical side of working professionally in the arts: communication, time management, reliability and making good connections.
It’s a subject very close to our hearts at LOUD WOMEN. Building something independent isn’t only about putting great bands on stage. It’s about creating community, opening doors for each other and making more space for artists who have traditionally been pushed to the edges of the music industry.
Heather has been doing exactly that in Nova Scotia, helping to build LOUD WOMEN Halifax and working with us on our second Halifax Fest. Just three weeks after EMERGE, she’ll be helping us take over The Seahorse Tavern for LOUD WOMEN Fest Halifax 2026 on Saturday 24 October.
We’re hugely proud to have Heather flying the LOUD WOMEN flag at EMERGE, and very glad to see grassroots independent music organising being included in conversations about how creative careers and communities are built.
