We’ve missed our radio home over the summer – and we’re very nearly back in the loving arms of Resonance FM.

First though: how cool is it that Resonance actually makes sure its programme-makers get a bit of time off over the summer? After a few weeks away, we’ll be returning with our fading tans, refreshed ears and an enormous pile of new music.

But we’re getting back on the airwaves sooner than usual, because this Saturday 5 September, Resonance is coming to LOUD WOMEN Fest London.

Which means: you can join us at LOUD WOMEN Fest wherever you are in the world.

From 1pm London time, the festival will be broadcast live on Resonance 104.4FM, on DAB across Greater London, nationally on Radioplayer, and online worldwide via ResonanceFM.com. You can also ask your smart speaker to play Resonance FM.

Piney Gir, Ruth Barnes and DJ Bubble Tee will be on the airwaves throughout the day, introducing you to the artists, interviewing bands, chatting to the crowd and bringing you all the atmosphere from Rich Mix. We’ll also be feeding the sound from the main stage desk straight onto the radio, so you can hear LOUD WOMEN Fest happening live.

Live community radio. Nineteen bands. LOUD WOMEN Fest. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s going to be fantastic. Do tune in.

We ❤️ Resonance FM

We’re incredibly proud that the LOUD WOMEN Radio Show is part of Resonance. Independent, artist-led, adventurous community radio is precisely the sort of thing the world needs more of, and we’re hugely grateful that every week they hand us 90 minutes of airtime and allow us to fill it with brand new music, live bands and whatever else happens in the studio.

If you want to find out more about why Resonance is such a unique institution, there are two excellent places to start.

First, Stewart Lee recently presented the brilliant BBC Radio 4 documentary Resonance FM: The Art of Listening, exploring the station’s history, archive and gloriously unconventional approach to broadcasting.

And, while we’re talking about radio and people being lovely about us, Mixcloud recently published a big feature on LOUD WOMEN too. Turning up the volume: The rise of LOUD WOMEN tells the story of how one London gig grew into an international community, and digs into the part radio – particularly Resonance – now plays in connecting LOUD WOMEN artists around the world.

Back live every Tuesday

Then, from Tuesday 8 September at 6pm London time, the LOUD WOMEN Radio Show is properly back in its regular slot, broadcasting live from the Resonance studio in Waterloo every Tuesday from 6–7.30pm.

Every week we bring you 90 minutes of brand new music from the global LOUD WOMEN scene, alongside interviews and artists performing live in the studio.

And our first live guest of the new season is Lilith Left the Garden!

They’re over for the LOUD WOMEN events, playing our Brighton show on Sunday, and have very kindly extended their stay to join us for a live session on Tuesday. So there will be live music, plenty to talk about and, no doubt, a slightly bleary-eyed LOUD WOMEN Fest debrief.

You can find all the ways to listen, plus previous shows, on the LOUD WOMEN Radio page.

Send us your music – or come and play live
