Siichaq — the project of Atlanta-based musician Kennie Mason — independently releases her latest album, The Righteous Sword. Expanding on the themes explored across last year’s CATCHER, the album dives deeper into identity, introspection and a sharper examination of society. Siichaq leans into a darker, industrial electronic soundscape, with each track driven by heart-pounding rhythms, buzzing textures and beautifully chaotic energy.
“This album challenged me. Going into the studio, I had only bits and pieces of songs and no real plan. There were moments of skepticism and fear, and there were moments of overwhelming excitement. I could’ve never anticipated how much I would come to love this record, when I first showed up, completely unprepared, to start tracking it. Each song takes little details from all of the genres I love and mashes them together, and it builds a chaotic world which is very much reflective of my taste and personality. And anyway, who doesn’t love a little chaos?”
