New Zealand icon Gin Wigmore returns with her fourth studio album, Beautiful Mess.
Her first new album in eight years, Beautiful Mess is Wigmore’s most personal and powerfully vulnerable release to date. The album reflects on the highs and lows of love, loss, divorce, motherhood, and the complicated process of rebuilding after collapse.
A double-sided album driven by dualism, Beautiful Mess explores the contrast between light and darkness, soft and hard, beauty and chaos. Side A embraces the ‘Beautiful’, drawing from country and Americana influences with moments of tenderness and warmth. Side B unleashes the ‘Mess’, shifting into gritty rock anthems and stepping into a more raw and unfiltered reality.
Alongside the album release, Wigmore shares new single ‘Tip Of My Tongue’, a reflective track exploring the longing for change and the difficult journey of personal growth.
“‘Tip Of My Tongue’ is a balancing act between feeling stuck in the mundane cycle of day-to-day life and hoping that love, with full unconditional acceptance, will overcome any feelings of mediocrity and complacency.
Gin Wigmore
It’s the bittersweet realization that a person can only change on their own accord, through self-belief and the desire to do so.”
While Beautiful Mess reflects on heartbreak and change, Gin Wigmore fearlessly steps into unknown territory, embracing the beauty and chaos of life.
