Destroya – photo by Natasha Koziarska

Leeds trio Destroya make an excellent racket on debut single ‘Recover’, out today. Built from grunge, metal and a great deal of pent-up fury, it takes aim at anyone who mistakes vulnerability for weakness.

Liv McNally’s vocal has real bite, while Ruggero Degl’Innocenti and Harvey Dodd keep the whole thing charging forward. It sounds like a band with something to prove, and absolutely no interest in proving it politely.

Destroya open their live shows with ‘Recover’. Quite right too.

The band play their first Leeds headline show at Key Club on 20 September.
