Bristol quartet Grandmas House share new single ‘The Table’, the latest taste of their long-awaited debut album Baby You’re A Winner, due on 21 August via Brace Yourself Records.

A live favourite for years, ‘The Table’ has finally made it into the studio without losing any of its urgency. Churning guitars, driving rhythms and rich vocal harmonies give the song real weight, while Yasmin Berndt’s raspy lead vocal cuts straight through the middle.

“‘The Table’ is the first song we wrote for the album. It was written in part about a relationship that is falling apart and in part about our experiences as women in the music industry.”

Having played it live for several years, they say the track has evolved through touring: “It’s nice to think that this song has been shaped a little by all of those experiences.”

Grandmas House head out on an extensive UK and European tour this autumn, including London’s Oslo (17 November), Brighton’s Hope & Ruin (20 November), Bristol’s Thekla (21 November), Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy (24 November), Manchester’s Soup (25 November) and Nottingham’s Bodega (27 November).
