Preston duo White Flowers release their second album Dreams For Somebody Else.
Katie Drew and Joey Cobb take an archival, diaristic approach to their music, ideas gathered over years in hard drives and sketchbooks, forming the foundation of Dreams For Somebody Else, a nonlinear, hazy dreamscape. Known for their “sad euphoria” sound, the duo blur dream-pop textures with the trance-like pull of dance music.
“Whilst recording the songs for ‘Dreams For Somebody Else’, we really connected with the concept of Annie Ernaux’s book, ‘The Years’ – a ‘collective autobiography’ pieced together from mismatched fragments from her past, conjuring the effect that she’s merely an observer of her own life. This concept merges into the White Flowers world, where time, rather than being restrictive, is fluid and boundless, with our music existing as an endless conversation with versions of ourselves at different stages of our lives.”

Each track unfolds like a flickering dream on the edge of waking, pulling you in and out of consciousness until the final note, when morning light hits.
