Leeds slacker-pop quartet Drury Hill share their debut single ‘Eye To Eye / River’ via Private Regcords.

Formed in Nottingham before relocating to Leeds, Drury Hill is composed of Lois Delgado (lead vocals), Charley Clarke-Smee (guitar, vocals), Sol Phillips (drums, percussion, tape machines), and Alfie Phillip (bass).

‘Eye To Eye / River’ showcases the effortless and compelling range of Drury Hill. ‘Eye To Eye’ is tender and smooth, carried by a calm sense of ease, while the hazy folk textures of ‘River’ provide a striking contrast.

“’Eye To Eye’ and ‘River’ were written with a new direction in mind. A step back from the nostalgia and humour of the first handful of songs and instead focusing on a more considerate approach to songwriting.

‘Eye To Eye’ touches upon losing the closeness and guidance of family- when physical distance interferes with loving someone. What started as a story about lesbian vikings, ‘River’ has taken on a few different meanings. Broadly, it’s about the nurturing, compassionate instincts that show when you want to take care of someone.  It was the first song we’d written that felt truly belonging to the band”
