Wales trio, and LOUD WOMEN favourites, CHROMA stopped by Manchester’s Rat & Pigeon, to spread the word of their fantastic second album, 25 Forever.
From the moment the first chord of album-opener ‘What!’ was played, frontwoman KT Hall was in complete command of the room. Strutting around the stage, she never missed a note, with vocals and a stage presence that brought to mind the likes of Beth Ditto and Karen O.
While the main focus of tonight’s set was made up of newer material, the band still made sure to give their debut album, Ask For Angela, some love.
‘Woman to Woman’ was a definite highlight; a powerful queer anthem that raises a massive middle finger to TERFS. It was an amazing feeling to dance along to such an empowering song in a room of strangers.
Tonight was everything you could ask for in a DIY gig – raw, intimate, and beautifully chaotic.
