Vocalist, composer, educator, and multimedia performance artist STEFA* releases the physical edition of their 2024 debut LP Born With An Extra Rib via Trans Music Archive.
STEFA* is the multimedia project of stefa marin alarcón, born and raised in Queens, NY to Colombian immigrant parents, blending punk, experimental pop, and classical maximalism with video collages.
Born With An Extra Rib explores the journey toward becoming one’s true self, pushing beyond the boundaries of colonization, dismantling rigid ideas of gender, and inspiring misfits to speak their own truths. The release expanded into a film, Born With An Extra Rib: The Film, extending its themes into a visual format.
Trans Music Archive is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving trans music through physical releases. Born With An Extra Rib is the organization’s third release.
