Album artwork for Hearing Aids by Loose Surface

Australian alt rock band just Loose Surface brought out a brand new punk rock track called Hearing Aids. This track says so many things I’ve thought in my head and yet never had the courage to say out loud to misogynistic men. Here come Loose Surface with an anthem ready to be played at a moment’s notice to any one who needs a wake-up call, and a good tuning.

Hearing Aids is a track with a quintessential punk rock vibe, reminiscent of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, filled with super savvy witty lyrics (and some hard hitting facts about sexual assault in Aus) ready to knock some sense into anyone unable to hear the word ‘No’.

Written by Loose Surface and produced by Cody Munro Moore, Hearing Aids is a solid punk rock track, with great grunge electric guitar and a hard hitting drum beat to add punch to even more powerful lyrics. We need more of this in the world, it’s powerful, clever and perfectly expresses the repressed rage women around the world feel when pushy men just don’t back off. You may be a ‘nice’ guy, but as Loose Surface so perfectly puts it… ‘In the forest, I’d choose the bear’

It came from a place of anger and exhaustion, seeing how often women are ignored, talked over and objectified. Some of it is from personal experience, some from what I’ve seen, and I just wanted to turn that into something loud enough to be heard. (Micah Absalom, Loose Surface )

Are you listening? If you aren’t yet, you definitely should be. All women should have this track saved and ready to be played for the next overly pushy nice guy who doesn’t use his ears well. Turn it up loud!
