COWZ

Brighton’s much beloved queer alt-pop troublemakers COWZ are back — louder, glossier, and gloriously unhinged — with their brand new EP You’re Into This. Out now via APOLLO Distribution, the five-track release is a neon-pink bovine explosion of attitude, humour, and hyper-pop power.

The inimitable duo, Tasha Bloom and Saga Wahl, COWZ have already carved out a name as one of the UK’s most exciting DIY acts — blending glitchy beats, punk spirit, and pop precision into something that’s entirely their own. And we are so into this.

“You’re into this – admit it.”

Just did babes!

The opening track ‘VIDEO’ sets the tone: turbo-charged, tongue-in-cheek, and irresistibly fun. Co-written with Stefan Abingdon of The Midnight Beast and Jake Roche (formerly of Rixton), it’s a full-throttle earworm dripping in irony and self-aware swagger. Written in Stefan’s garden shed and finished in Saga’s bedroom, it perfectly sums up the COWZ ethos — DIY to the bone, but overflowing with popstar ambition.

Elsewhere, ‘Ur No Rockstar’ adds a darker, alt edge – all serrated synths and snarling vocals – while ‘ELEPHANT’ and ‘Ur fave song (miss the fun)’ twist between chaos and catharsis. Closer ‘La La Like You’ ties it all together in a glitter-soaked bow: bratty, bold, and built for the dancefloor.

COWZ call their sound “girl’s girl pop with violent undertones” — and that’s exactly what You’re Into This delivers. It’s feral, feminist, and funny as hell; a record that laughs in the face of genre boundaries and dares you not to dance.
