Bitter Tits
A LOUD WOMEN spotlight interview with Jay of Baltimore's Bitter Tits, ahead of joining us down under for LOUD WOMEN Fests in Melbourne and Sydney

Who’s in the band?
Jay; vocals/guitar/ slight drama queen/writer of music & lyrics
Porkchops; drums/bass on album/THE o.g.punk/band chef/ logo designer

Describe your sound in three words.
Punk/grunge/autobiographical

If you could rip up the rulebook of the music industry, what’s the first thing you’d rewrite?
What’s deemed “popular” and who gets access to those narrow channels into the mainstream audience.

Tell us about your music

‘Call me jiff’ … it’s about being spread too thin trying to do everything society wants you to do and the weight we put on ourselves…and screaming I’ve had enough!

What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?
Beating my meth addiction. I knew we were better than that. At the time enough was enough.

What’s the proudest moment you’ve had so far as a band/artist?
Honestly this is pretty huge for us. Being overseas and playing our music is a first for both of us.

What’s a dream gig or collaboration you must make happen before you die?
Red Rocks [Amphitheatre] in Colorado! CBGBs! And a NOFX collab.

Dream lineup: you + three other acts (alive, dead, or imaginary). Who’s on the bill?
NOFX + Adolescents + X

What’s next for you?
Looking to record new stuff in January/February – we got a lot more songs! And hopefully a mini tour of the east coast

Anything else you’d like to add?
Tell anyone giving u shit: suck on these bitter tits!
