Seminal Oxford indiepop heroes Heavenly are officially back in business. The cult band — loved for their sugar-rush melodies, razor-sharp brains and riot grrrl heart — have announced a major 2026 tour across the UK, Europe and the USA, alongside news of a brand new album landing February 2026 on Skep Wax Records. Saints be praised, indiepop just got its halo back.

If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok, a record shop or someone with impeccable taste lately, you’ll know that Heavenly are having A Moment™. Their 1990s singles and albums — originally released on Sarah Records (UK) and K Records (US) — have recently been reissued and devoured by old-school devotees and a brand-new generation armed with thrifted cardigans and a healthy distrust of the patriarchy. Their streaming numbers are now clocking in at over two million a month and rising — not bad for a band whose biggest crime was being 30 years too early.

Recent shows in London, Paris, New York and LA sold out faster than you can say ‘C is the Heavenly Option’, proving that the original Heavenly fanbase never lost faith — they just needed a sign. And now, the heavens deliver: a full tour AND new music.

The upcoming album stays true to Heavenly’s signature alchemy — bittersweet pop meets feminist fury — the same formula that gave us classics like ‘P.U.N.K. Girl’: a masterclass in how to weaponise melody against misogyny. Expect sparkling hooks, clever lyrics and a backbone of DIY defiance.

In true independent spirit, the band are releasing the record on Skep Wax, the label run by Heavenly’s own Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey. The label is also home to brilliant DIY acts like The Cords, Jeanines and Sassyhiya.

Tickets go on sale soon — 14 October for most European dates and 17 October for the US East Coast.
