Bad static at LOUD WOMEN Fest London 2025 - photo by Bridie Main

BAD STATIC – what an absolute joy to have these New Yorkers tearing up our London Fest stage! We first met them back in May: bassist Keila came along to volunteer as a photographer, and the next day we were sprawled out in the park with them making zines at a riot grrrl meet-up they’d organised. It was instant love – and we knew straight away they had to be part of our London Fest, along with their ‘wife band’ T@b Grrrl (more on those babes shortly!).

They brought IMMENSE energy, joy and bangers to the Rich Mix stage – the crowd devoured every second. Since landing, they’ve been crashing with our own photographic legend Keira Anee, and from all reports they’re making quite the splash in London. They also popped into LOUD WOMEN Radio on Tuesday, where we dropped some exciting news: they’ll be helping us organise next year’s LOUD WOMEN Fest NYC. Watch this space.

Fam for life. Safe travels back to the states ❤️

“Bad Static. From NYC. Another new to me. Great to see so many overseas bands play this. A set of very gritty extremely raw riot grrrl punk rock. Such a brilliant set from this lot and great to see them getting the room going so wild.” – John the Punk
