Grace Savage returned to LOUD WOMEN Fest this year, and wow, what a performance. She first played for us back in 2018, and as she noted, a lot has changed since then — including the presence of two absolutely adorable toddlers eagerly watching her work her magic. Legendary beatboxer (four-time UK champion, don’t ya know), Grace mesmerises as she layers her sounds live, breaking down the process for the audience: first this layer, then that one, then a third… and by the fourth, our minds are officially blown. Add her stunning voice and beautiful pop songs, and you’ve got a performance that’s equal parts technical wizardry and pure joy. It was a delight to have her back on stage.
“Grace Savage. Giving something a lot different with her human beatbox and not like the blokes in hoods you see busking at Leicester Square as she was actually very good. Mixing her beats and other vocal sounds into a sampler as she also sang. There was some uk garage at the end and I’d usually run a mile but what she did with it was great. A really entertaining set.” – John the Punk
