ACTRS at LOUD WOMEN Fest London - photo by Keira Anee

ACTRS (until about five minutes ago known as Friend of Franky) gave us one of those sets at LOUD WOMEN Fest London on Saturday – the kind that makes you nudge the stranger next to you and go “yep, this lot are going places”. Hilariously, their name change dropped online literally moments after we’d sent the Fest signage to print – and long after the t-shirts were pressed – so anyone who nabbed a Fest tee before they sold out now owns a rare collector’s item. You’re welcome.

They hit the stage as a two-piece (drummers, eh – who even needs ’em) and honestly, Kit and Anna more than owned the room on their own. Gorgeous, goosebump-inducing harmonies, songs that swing between queer heartbreak and queer euphoria, and a connection so powerful it had the crowd absolutely locked in. ACTRS are the real deal – and this feels like just the beginning.
