New Jersey born, LA-based artist Maddy Davis shares vulnerable track ‘John’s Song’ – another look into her upcoming EP Smile At The Good, out 18 July via AWAL.
‘John’s Song’ pays homage to Davis’ New Jersey roots with Bruce Springsteen inspired storytelling and instrumentals. Davis’ signature candidness shines through with her personal lyrics.
In the fall of ‘23 I was hitting a low
Faceplant on the ground, a most comical blow
When a man broke my heart and my mother got sick
And my bank account was in the negatives.
Davis filmed the accompanying video for ‘John’s Song’ using her mom’s VHS 1998 camcorder, continuing the nostalgic thread from previous single ‘What If’.
