Chewy She by Magda Campagne

Crying through heartbreak is so 2011 – how about attack it with infectious humour? CHEWY SHE, the BBC Radio 6 darlings and cult favourites among those who cherish the weird and wonderful side of life, return with a disco-punk anthem ‘Relationship’.

Imagine Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s ‘Fleabag’ soundtracked by Peaches and directed by David Lynch and you might get an idea what’s in store. A raw, playful and self-aware banger for commitment-phobes, romance thrill-seekers and anyone currently single.

“I wrote this song when I was single… and I’m still single. Maybe it’s because I sing it live all
the time, or maybe it’s the sprouted potato artwork. It’s for anyone who’s ever turned a romantic disaster into an excuse to throw on lipstick and party” – CHEWY

The video was directed by Vika Evdokimenko – a BAFTA-nominated director whose work includes
collaborations with Robbie Ryan (Poor Things) and Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer), with support
from the BFI and The Uncertain Kingdom. The surreal and fiercely empowering piece follows CHEWY SHE sparking a rebellion in a London car park as she escapes a clingy one-night stand. A pyjama sisterhood forms and tables are being turned, accompanied by choreography that is as impressive as it is unhinged.
