Southern California’s Bite Me Bambi has released their new single, ‘Do The Damned’.

California has long been a hot spot when it comes to ska punk, spawning many of the bands that helped launch the Third Wave Ska scene in the 90’s (Dance Hall Crashers, No Doubt, Operation Ivy, Save Ferris etc). It seems the Golden State still has more to give, if Bite Me Bambi is anything to go by.

Combining their trademark catchy ska-punk sound with a vintage rockabilly vibe, ‘Do The Damned’ is our first taste of the band’s upcoming EP, Eat This (out early 2025).

Talking about the song and video, frontwoman Tahlena Chikami says:

“Do The Damned is a song about deciding not to be a people pleaser anymore. We wanted the video to reflect that same attitude. Drawing inspiration from the viral Wednesday Addams dance, our choreographer, Kimmay Evans, brought to life a vision full of IDGAF energy.”

Tahlena’s vibrant vocals immediately draw you in – she has enough talent to be able to confidently stand alongside other iconic women in ska, like Pauline Black, Rhoda Dakar, Monique Powell, and Gwen Stefani. While these may seem like obvious comparisons to make, rest assured, Bite Me Bambi’s music is more than capable of holding its own. The rockabilly, punk, and power-pop influences they inject into their sound set them apart and, from the sounds of things, the band are embracing their uniqueness with their upcoming EP.

Bite Me Bambi will be touring the US with Barstool Preachers (dates below!), and have also been confirmed for next years Rebellion Festival in the UK.
