New York-based singer-songwriter KAZIMI recently released her debut album River Run – an unfiltered look into who KAZIMI is as an artist and person.
“This record is my whole heart and it’s a world I’ve lived in for many years. It gave me a refuge and a place to express myself with a boldness that can otherwise feel too vulnerable. I sing things on this record that are hard to say—both to myself and to others. I didn’t even realize how much I was revealing until the recording was underway.”

Focus track ‘Fifteen’ is a standout moment on this impressive debut album. ’Fifteen’ is a story of young heartbreak. While KAZIMI looks back to that part of her life, she also sees the good of right now.
“There is something so unique about falling in love for the first time. It is raw and all-consuming and there’s no prior experience telling you to hold back. That naiveté is beautiful and can also mean total obliteration when the relationship falls apart—it certainly did in my case. This song is a reflection on that part of my life, looking back at who I was then from who I am now.

Recording ‘Fifteen’ with the person I wrote it about (co-producer Robert Ellis) was a poetic, full-circle moment and it’s coincidentally the only track on the album that is played by just the two of us.”
River Run was co-produced by Robert Ellis and KAZIMI at Niles City Sound in Fort Worth, Texas and Salad House in Los Angeles, California.
