I love to start the day by hearing a brand new band – and Slung are a doozy of a brand new band.

Alt-rockers from Brighton (of course, that’s where all the new alt-rock bands are hatched … those aren’t pebbles on the beach, those are alt-rocks, and each one contains a teeny tiny fledgling band … careful where you picnic) Slung are formed from members of Sit Down, The Death of Us and InTechnicolour. Their debut single ‘Neurotic’ is a sublime introduction to what’s to come from the foursome; building to a tumultuous crescendo, with vocalist Katie Oldham giving it all her beans. She tells us:

“To me, the song is representative of so much vulnerability: imposter syndrome, fear of letting people down, fear of failure, losing control, literal disempowerment…”
